Salary Level:  Classification Level 4 (Salary range A$59, 452 to A$62,525 gross per annum plus up to 9.5% employer superannuation contributions) 

Appointment:  Full-time, fixed-term until 22 November 2018

Overview of Sunshine Coast Mind and Neuroscience – Thompson Institute (SCMN-TI)

The Sunshine Coast Mind and Neuroscience – Thompson Institute is developing into a world-class facility for mental health and neurological research, teaching and associated clinical services. The Institute will enable USC to make a major contribution to the understanding, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the brain and mind and be at the forefront of vital research in the areas of ageing and dementia and mental health issues relating to youth and adults alike.

Overview of the Role

As a member of the Thompson Institute support team, the Receptionist and Administrative Assistant is the first point of contact providing high quality reception, administration support and customer service to staff, students, clients and visitors. This role is pivotal in maintaining the professional image of the Thompson Institute and in doing so demonstrates efficiency, diplomacy, dedication as well as maintaining complete confidentiality at all times.

The Receptionist and Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive reception and administrative support for the USC Psychology Clinic and the Thompson Institute. This includes fielding all enquires, including emails, phone calls and appointments, making appropriate bookings and providing relevant advice and assistance on all services. This role also involves maintaining the test library, creating and monitoring client files through the introduction of an electronic record management system, supporting Provisional Psychologists (Master students) and academic staff in the processes and systems of the Clinic. The incumbent will review office processes and practices, promote continuous quality improvement activities in consultation with management, and assist with the planning and organisation of meetings, forums, workshops, events and other activities.

The successful candidate will have a relevant Associate Diploma qualification with experience in a similar position or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training. The role requires the ability to provide comprehensive administrative support and high quality customer service.  The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal, time management and organisational skills, the ability maintain confidentiality.
