The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) & Registrar is a member of the University Executive with strategic responsibilities that include the planning, quality and delivery of education, support, student experience and services provided to Macquarie's undergraduate and graduate students

The portfolio oversees the development of a balanced academic staff profile for the University as well as the capabilities of the academy, and is accountable for the delivery of the student experience in relation to administration, wellbeing and engagement and providing the strategy, structure and resources to deliver a world class student experience both physically and virtually to all Macquarie students.

The portfolio works closely with the Academic Senate and all Offices and Faculties of the University involved in the oversight of enhancing academic quality.

The Role 

The Governance Services Unit is currently seeking a highly professional, organised and detail orientated Governance Officer. Reporting to the University Committee Secretary, this role will ensure the effective coordination and maintenance of University Committee administration functions.  The role will also be responsible for assisting coordinate elections and providing high quality secretariat and governance support to the University Committee Secretary and relevant stakeholders. 

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant qualifications and/or extensive relevant experience in providing high-level secretariat and governance support.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of formal meeting procedures and protocols.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in committee coordination and high-level administration support.
  • Demonstrated skill designing, formatting and developing documentation to present to a client or stakeholder.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience building and maintaining stakeholder relationships at a senior level.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in delivering a high volume of accurate work within tight deadlines.

Salary Package: from $90,330 - $97,937 p.a. (HEW Level 7), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
