The Role and Your Responsibilities

This key leadership role works closely with the Executive Director Communications to deliver world class digital content that will help build and protect the reputation of RMIT and enable the delivery of our Ready for Work & Life strategy. . Creating and managing a communications channel and content strategy that spans a variety of audience segments, including internal, external, student and research, you will lead and a best-practice approach to an enterprise-wide digital content..

This role will lead a small dynamic team in the creation and implementation of effective RMIT-wide communications and will work closely with the University's Marketing Customer Experience team. . This role is both strategic and operational, and ensures the content is driven through a range of innovative channels including digital, social media, video production, web and experiments with new approaches that promote personalisation, relevancy and feedback.

Skills and Experience Required

To be suitable for this role you will have experience in the leadership of a highly-effective communications function or agency environment and in communications planning, delivery and measurement that contributed to strategic University or organisational objectives. You will also have experience in working with contemporary media and digital technology to improve outcomes and leading and influencing organisational change and business improvement in a complex environment. You will have experience in working with data and stakeholders to identify emerging and unmet needs and to develop solutions to meet those needs and experience in encouraging a workplace culture of high performance and promoting accountability for outcomes. You will have excellent communication skills and demonstrated passion for delivering creative and impactful communications experiences. A degree and a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline and with significant relevant professional experience at a similar level are essential.
