Visiting Lecturers in Arts, Performing Arts and Design

Salary: £varies
Hours: Varies
Contract: Fixed Term per assignment

Leeds Arts University is the only specialist arts university in the North of England. We have contributed significantly to the development of arts education for over 170 years and have developed a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our students and staff. Formerly Leeds College of Art, Leeds Arts University was granted full university status by the Privy Council in 2017.

We are looking to establishing a pool of visiting lecturers who we can approach to undertake fixed term teaching assignments across our provision in a variety of areas. The nature of assignments may vary from short term sickness cover at FE level through to acting as a personal tutor for a postgraduate student. Associated administration time will be paid alongside any studio or teaching time.

Appointments will involve short term teaching blocks with frequency of sessions to be confirmed. Successful candidates will be placed on a register and considered for any future teaching that may occur. Experience of teaching at the relevant level is desirable, though experts with significant industry experience and an interest to develop teaching skills may also be of interest. Full details of the essential requirements for the role can be found in the job description.

Details of our course portfolio can be found on our website - http://www.leeds-art.ac.uk/study/ and applicants are asked to make clear what level of teaching and for which disciplines they are interested in being considered for.

Successful candidates to the pool will undertake a short paid induction period to enable themselves to be familiarised with the University systems and those who express an interest in working in our FE provision may be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

Given the adhoc and possibly short term nature of assignments that may be offered, applications are particularly encouraged from those who are located within an easy commuting distance of the University.

Please note CV’s will not be accepted for this position. If you would like to apply for this vacancy, please click the 'apply' button where you will be redirected to our website.

Closing date: Friday 8th December 2017 at 5.00pm

Interview date: Interviews will take place on a number of dates across January for each Programme Directorate.

Leeds Arts University is committed to pursuing equality of opportunity and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all learners and expect our staff to share this commitment.

We will not be accepting applications from Recruitment Agencies for this position.
