The Political Science and International Relations programme and Centre for Strategic Studies seeks to appoint a permanent Lecturer in Strategic Studies (equivalent to tenured assistant professor)/International Relations. The starting date is negotiable.

The successful candidate will possess the abilities required to teach strategic studies (broadly understood), with a related expertise in some aspect of global or regional security or New Zealand's defence and security policy. Expertise in strategic theory and concepts, cyber-security, terrorism or maritime security would also be useful, but all strong candidates with a background in some aspect of strategic studies are encouraged to apply.

A PhD must be in hand prior to taking up the appointment as Lecturer.

Each role will require: preparation and delivery of graduate and undergraduate courses in Strategic Studies and/or International Relations; an active research profile; engagement with government agencies and/or media, and other teaching or administrative duties as agreed with the Head of School, School of History, Philosophy, Political Studies and International Relations.
