The University of Newcastle is seeking two Deputy Directors to champion their new marketing vision, to drive forward its compelling new brand campaign and to provide leadership in the newly centralised Marketing and Communications Unit.

The Marketing and Communications Unit:
The unit engages with Faculties and other Divisions across the University and plays a critical role in supporting the University’s NeW Futures strategy by building and enhancing the University's reputation; promoting and supporting the University's innovation, entrepreneurship and industry engagement initiatives; and leading and supporting the Undergraduate and Postgraduate student recruitment efforts for domestic and international markets. The new centralised unit comprises the following teams: Brand Strategy, Division Marketing and Insights; Marketing and Future Students; Communications and Media; Creative Services; and Web.
These are two exciting new senior leadership opportunities for outstanding marketing, student recruitment and communications professionals to assist in the establishment and transformation of a new marketing model for the university. Alongside the CMO, the Deputies will advise and work with senior stakeholders across the University, and provide leadership within the unit to deliver strategic marketing and communications capability in their respective areas of responsibility.
The Deputy Director, Marketing and Future Students is a leader of a diverse marketing and student recruitment portfolio responsible for student recruitment planning and outreach. They lead the delivery of Faculty marketing, campaign development and execution across undergraduate, postgraduate and pathways programs.
The Deputy Director, Communications and Media is responsible for leading the Communications and Media team and through the team’s work, helps to protect and enhance the University's reputation through targeted communications and media strategies through a wide range of channels, including traditional and new media.
The roles require experienced professionals in their fields, with a proven track record in leading and executing integrated strategy in a large and complex organisation. The successful candidates will have exceptional influencing and relationship-building skills including evidence of the capacity to promote collegiality and a culture that embraces change.
The roles are fixed term positions for 5 years.
