The Role and Responsibilities
The Administrative Officer is responsible for the provision of timely, efficient and effective Human Resources support for the School of Engineering. The Administrative Officer will coordinate the recruitment, appointment, induction of new staff, due to end and incremental progression and other related HR activities for the School.
Each member of the team focusses on a subset of the team's overall responsibilities, however it is expected that team members are familiar with one another's tasks and can provide support when necessary.
Skills & Experience Required
You will have significant administrative experience, preferably in the tertiary education sector, with experience as an HR administrator and a high level of competency in planning, implementing and review of programs and initiatives. You will also demonstrate a commitment to quality and continuous improvement, with a proven ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and systems consistently, provide advice and to drive creative solutions through to implementation within the immediate work area. Furthermore, your demonstrated highly developed interpersonal, relationship building, oral and written communication skills and the proven ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of management, staff and external parties on complex and sensitive issues will be essential to your success in the role.
