School of Veterinary Science
The School of Veterinary Science has a rich history having been founded in 1936 and has a reputation for graduating self-reliant, independent and highly capable veterinarians with plenty of initiative and drive. The School has high quality facilities at the UQ Gatton Campus, providing the teaching, research and clinical infrastructure and resources to develop its strong reputation as a leading provider of veterinary training, research and clinical care. The school also maintains a small animal hospital and large animal clinic at Dayboro, north-west of Brisbane.
The role will be to participate in the management of primary, emergency and referral cases requiring anaesthesia and analgesia. The incumbent will also actively participate in the clinical teaching and instruction of undergraduate and postgraduate veterinary science and veterinary technology students.
Applicants must have a Veterinary Science degree registrable in Queensland together with experience of at least 3 years in veterinary anaesthesia. You should have effective interpersonal skills and the capacity to serve as an excellent clinical model to students and peers.
There are 2 positions available; 1 full time fixed term position for 12 month period and one part time position of up to 0.8 FTE for a period of 12 months.
The remuneration package will be in the range:
For fulltime position: $ 92,811 - $104,214p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of 9.5% (total package will be in the range $ 101,628- $114,114p.a.)
For Part Time position -$ 74,248 - $83,371p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of 9.5% (total package will be in the range $ 81,302- $91,291p.a.)
