About the opportunity
The School of Electrical and Information Engineering at the University of Sydney is seeking to appoint one Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDA) to join the Centre of Excellence in Telecommunications working on an Australia Laureate Fellowship Project. The Research Associates / Research Fellows will be involved in the design of ultralow latency wireless communication systems and networks.
The position is a two years fixed term contract, subject to satisfactory annual progress. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees.

We are looking for Postdoctoral Research Associate who has strong research experience in error control coding and information theory.
The successful applicants will also have a PhD or be close to his PhD completion in a relevant area and a strong research track record as well as mathematical and software tools such as linear algebra, coding theory, finite block length analysis, distributed optimisation, and machine learning.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, work effectively in a team, manage resources and prioritise tasks to achieve project outcomes will be essential.
