The School of Medicine is known for its innovation and excellence in health research, education and service. The School offers a postgraduate medical program as well as undergraduate and postgraduate programs and courses in public health, environmental health, health services management and First Australians' health that have been developed to serve the needs of South East Queensland, Australia and internationally, incorporating a strong community and inter-sectoral focus.

These are continuing, part time (50%) positions based at the Gold Coast campus.

The role:

This position will assist to develop, convene, teach and evaluate courses in environmental health and related areas while building and maintaining community and industry linkages in Environmental Health through collaboration with appropriate government, professional, academic and industry bodies. The positon will commence with a balanced Teaching and Research profile and the successful appointee will be required to undertake research and scholarly activities to inform the quality, innovation, currency and evidence-base of teaching, including generation of research funds, publication of scholarly work and performance of consultancies, where appropriate.

The person:

As the Lecturer / Senior Lecturer you will be highly committed to teaching excellence, have a developing research profile, and will actively and effectively supervise honours and postgraduate research student projects. Level B applicants will possess a tertiary qualification in a relevant field with either practical experience as an environmental health professional, or an equivalent relevant scientific background. Level C applicants will be required to possess, or have made substantial progress towards, a PhD in a relevant field. The successful applicant will also demonstrate skills and experience in teaching and assessment in the tertiary or industry sector with demonstrated research capability and/or capacity to develop scholarship in the area of environmental health or environmental health professional education.

Salary range:

Senior Lecturer, Level C: $111,104 - $128,113 (pro rata) per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $129,993 - $149,893 (pro rata) per annum.

Lecturer, Level B: $90,697 - $107,706 (pro rata) per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $106,116 - $126,017 (pro rata) per annum.
