The Student Recruitment and Admissions Office, part of the Academic Registry and Student Services department, has an exciting 12 month sabbatical vacancy for a recent graduate, to play a significant role in the practical delivery of student recruitment activity. The Assistant Student Recruitment Officer will support a range of Student Recruitment activities delivered nationally, locally and at the Durham City Campus.

The main duties of the post will be to support the work of the student recruitment team which includes representing and promoting the University at events delivered both locally and nationally. In addition the post holder will be expected to contribute to the development of processes associated with a major programme of work entitled ‘Recruiting the Next Generation of Students’, in particular the implementation of a new customer relationship management system for the University.

The role will entail representing the University across a range of recruitment activities, including the delivery of presentations and provision of information and advice to prospective students and their parents at school and college visits, UCAS Conventions and other major higher education events across the UK. The role may involve assisting with the delivery of a number of access projects designed to raise the educational aspirations and attainment of young people.

As necessary, the post holder may also be involved in the wider duties of the Student Recruitment and Admissions Office and Academic Registry and Student Services; such duties include assisting with University congregations.

The position is based in The Palatine Centre, Durham City.

Please note, although the regular hours for this role will be Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, it will also include working unsocial hours, sometimes weekends, and will also involve some travel.
