W2-Professorship for “Clinical Psychology”

to begin in October 2018

The professorship plays a key role in the further development of the institute’s educational science perspective.

The ideal candidate is a specialist who will represent the clinical psychology department in breadth throughout research and teaching in coordination with the learning, work, and cognitive sciences, focusing on clinicalpsychoeducational research questions posed by different age groups (children, adolescents, young and middleaged adults, and seniors) in various social organizations and areas of life. The chairholder should possess outstanding quantitative empirical research, licensing requirements of Psychological Psychotherapy in behavioral therapy, in addition to specialized certification in adult therapy, and possibly also in child and adolescent psychotherapy.

The chairholder is also responsible for the management of the outpatient clinic for psychotherapy. Close cooperation with other departments of the institute, as well as collaboration in interdisciplinary research within “Communication, Knowledge, and Education”, a recently created key research area, is expected. The candidate will be required to participate in the teaching and research priorities of the Faculty of Philosophy III - Pedagogics. The work will require lectures and supervising Bachelor-, Master-, and PhD theses, especially in the field of clinical psychology and psychotherapy, and occasionally in biological psychology. The candidate will be expected to be an active participant in the design of educational curricula for bachelor’s and master’s programmes in the field of psychology, in addition to training for the Teachers Training Course for grammar schools, and in academic self-governance. Incumbent duties will include other requirements specified in § 34 of the Higher Education Act of the state Saxony-Anhalt.

Applicants must meet the requirements according to § 35 of the university law of Saxony-Anhalt. These include a habilitation or equivalent scientific accomplishments. Salary will be determined according to legal and budgetary regulations. Application expenses cannot be refunded.
