The Opportunity

The appointee will be responsible to teach undergraduate and post graduate courses in land use planning, real estate/ land law. She/he will also be expected to supervise Masters and PhD theses, contribute towards existing courses and develop new courses in the School which will be used for presentation in distance and flexible learning. The appointee will be expected to make significant contributions to all activities of the School including research administration, preparing and delivering lectures, seminars, tutorials and online teaching activities, assessing students’ work and undertaking research and consultancy in the Land Management discipline. An appointee at the senior level will also be expected to play a major leadership role within the School.

The Person We Seek

To be considered for this position, applicants must have:

  • A PhD in a relevant field;
  • Significant tertiary teaching experience;
  • A strong record of internationally recognised research and publications;
  • A strong record of quality teaching and a demonstrated capacity for academic and administrative leadership.

Preference will be given to applicants with:

Professional experience, the ability to deal effectively with cultural diversity and ability to interact with and teach young people and professionals in the field.

Remuneration

The position is available for a term of 5 years and may be renewed by mutual agreement.

Salary Range: Senior Lecturer FJ $90,882 to FJ $104,865 per annum

In addition to the above benefits, the University contributes 10% of basic salary to an approved superannuation scheme, provides airfare and relocation costs where appropriate.
