Senior Staff Accountant

Create drafts of key external and internal financial reports, review results for reasonableness and investigate and document reasons for unusual fluctuations. Prepare key general ledger account reconciliations, annual audit schedules, and the monitor and oversee several balance sheet areas. Work closely with other members of the General Accounting staff, and with staff in Budget, Student Accounts, Research Accounting, and other areas.
B.A./B.S., Masters preferred. CPA candidate preferred. Detail oriented,with strong analytical and organizational skills. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Ability to demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills. This position will require learning applicable University, Comptroller's Office, policies, procedures, and practices. Three to five years of relevant experience. Experience in public accounting preferred.
