The MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit (IEU) within the Bristol Medical School, at the University of Bristol are seeking a talented senior research associate with experience in genetic epidemiology, statistical genetics, medical statistics, epidemiology and/or causal analysis methods.
 
The successful candidate will join the vibrant interdisciplinary research environment in the MRC IEU on a collaborative project with the CHDI Foundation. The post holder will work on a collaborative project to identify traits and biomarkers which show genetic prediction of age of onset or progression of Huntington’s disease (HD) through the application of Mendelian randomization methods developed in the IEU.
 
The post holder will integrate genome-wide association study data into MR-Base (www.mrbase.org) and LD-Hub (ldsc.broadinstitute.org), and conduct investigations relevant to Huntington’s disease. The role holder will also contribute to the development of methods of relevance to disease progression and will work in collaboration with CHDI scientists to collate datasets relevant to HD.
 
Interaction with collaborators will form part of the role, and the SRA will be offered the opportunity of research visits.
