Middlesex University Mauritius

Middlesex University is a global leader in education and research, with 39,000 students studying for a Middlesex award around the world. The University is a truly global centre of learning with campuses in London, Dubai, Malta and Mauritius. It was one of the first UK universities to establish an international campus with the opening of Middlesex Dubai in 2005. The success of the Dubai campus led to the opening of a campus in Mauritius in 2009, followed by one in Malta in 2013.

Middlesex University Mauritius holds a prominent position in the burgeoning Higher Education sector of the country and region. The campus is currently home to more than 900 students from 26 countries, providing undergraduate and postgraduate degrees backed up by the same rigorous quality assurances for which Middlesex University in London has been recognised. As of September of this year, Middlesex University Mauritius benefits from a brand new, purpose built campus placed in the heart of a growing Smart City, with neighbours such as Ecole Centrale de Nantes and ESCP Business School and a growing community of innovative private firms located in the Medine Business Park. The new campus provides staff and students with the highest quality higher education environment for learning, teaching and researching on the island and offers accommodation, sports and leisure facilities on its doorstep.

Together with the Medine Group, their local joint venture partner, Middlesex University is now seeking to appoint a new Director of Middlesex University Mauritius who will capitalise on this exciting new chapter of the campus’s development. Working with key partners at Middlesex University in London, the Director will provide strategic vision for the growth and expansion of the campus and build on the reputation of the University in Mauritius, the wider region, and beyond. The successful candidate will have an outstanding personal record of leadership preferably in a higher education environment, with significant experience of transnational education and driving quality, performance and growth. The next Director will be widely engaged in international higher education and will demonstrate a strong entrepreneurial ethos. Resonance with the values of Middlesex University will be essential, as will an ability to work across different cultures and build effective relationships within a complex stakeholder context.
