The School of Allied Health comprises the Department of Community and Clinical Allied Health and the Department of Rehabilitation, Sport and Nutrition. The Sport and Exercise Science discipline is part of the Department of Rehabilitation, Nutrition and Sport. The discipline is undergoing considerable growth at present.

About the position

This position will contribute to the development and delivery of the School’s new Bachelor of Sports and Exercise Science, particularly in the areas of exercise prescription and strength and conditioning.  Develop, coordinate and teach a high quality learning experience that engages students and demonstrates a scholarly approach to learning and teaching.  Participate in course level curriculum design and development and keep abreast of innovations in teaching and learning such as online and blended delivery.

Skills and Experience

  • PhD or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University.
  • Demonstrated competence in teaching and curriculum development.
  • Evidence of high quality and/or high impact research conducted and published.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, or co-supervise, honours and postgraduate students.
  • Professional accreditation as an exercise scientist and/or sports scientist, as well as experience in the fields of exercise prescription and/or strength and conditioning is highly desirable.
