Widening Participation Officer
Salary - £24,285 - £27,285 per annum
Full time, permanent opportunity
Working within a wider team, the Widening Participation Officer is responsible for the day-to-day delivery of Widening Participation activities.
The post holder is responsible for managing other Student Recruitment staff in delivery of their objectives and for overseeing the range of widening participation events delivered by the team. There will be an important emphasis on developing and delivering suitable activities to support the recruitment of underrepresented students who have the potential to succeed in higher education.
The post holder will develop and deliver a wide range of projects, events and activities to encourage applications to the University, including, and not restricted to, school/college careers fairs, taster sessions, campus visits, presentations, workshops, summer schools and mentoring. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and able to work independently, as much of the work will be delivered off-site.
The post holder will, with the Student Recruitment Manager, identify partnership opportunities with schools and colleges and establish relationships with intermediaries. They will ensure a consistently targeted and monitored approach to our work with schools and colleges, in line with student recruitment objectives.
