The Faculty of Science has more than 9000 students and over 500 staff dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge. It delivers flexible and innovative teaching programs designed to produce job-ready graduates for a diverse range of professions. The Faculty is comprised of a Faculty Office, eight Schools, teaching/research laboratories and a number of commercial clinics. The majority of our teaching and research activity is undertaken within the Schools. The clinical enterprises, which include dentistry clinics, allied health clinics, veterinary clinics and an environmental analytical laboratory, all generate revenue and provide a significant clinical experience opportunity for our students.

Within CSU, the technical service team work seamlessly to facilitate flexible delivery of student centred courses. The Faculty of Science and technical service team facilitates and encourages all staff to become multi-skilled to facilitate interoperability across and between multiple campuses to meet the changing needs and challenges of a dynamic university environment. As such the technical service team have technical responsibilities across all Schools in the Faculty.

This position is a full time, continuing role and has a specialised focus, requiring skills, qualifications and experience in agriculture or horticulture. The successful applicant will be part of the Life Sciences & Health Technical Team providing technical and laboratory support for teaching and research in Plant and Soil Science. The position will provide a range of technical support, including but not limited to preparation and breakdown of classes, providing inductions and basic training for equipment, providing technical advice and guidance to facility users, the maintenance of inventories, and assistance with audits and risk management processes.
