Going for Growth

Located within the area of Marketing, Student Recruitment and Channel Integration, the International Recruitment team is responsible for growth in new international student enrolments across a range of regions and product portfolios. 

This growth will in turn drive growth in international revenue, across student segments, and widen and deepen Swinburne’s recruitment across key international markets.

This newly created role focuses on our agency network in China & North Asia, with a primary focus on the growth opportunity in China. Leading a team of three, you will focus on developing, managing and engaging our network of agency partners across China and the region to maximise total new student enrolments from the region. You will be responsible for Swinburne recruitment operations, events and activities in the region and support planning, budgeting and engagement focused on the region.

In this role, you will deploy your extensive experience and networks in the agency channel at a senior level to rapidly drive growth in new student enrolments. In particular, your significant experience in student recruitment in China, strong relationships and deep market insights will enable the focused deployment of resources to market opportunity.

You will be well supported by marketing and product portfolio colleagues to deliver compelling collateral, training and events to enable strong recruitment outcomes across a wide mix of academic product. You will be well supported by Admissions and Communications colleagues to service and engage the Agency channel across the region. You will engage with academic and professional colleagues across the University to maximise the resources available to and engagement with your region. In turn, your efforts will deliver significant new revenue to the University enabling further engagement and investment.

Your experience in sales management at a management level in a large, complex transnational organisation will enable you to harness resources across the University to focus on this high growth opportunity. You will be skilled at building strong relationships both internally and externally to achieve quality and sustainable growth through third party channels. Your experience in account and channel management, customer service and problem resolution, and operating across complex, matrix organisations will see you well positioned to succeed in this role. Experience in establishing and managing legal entities in China will be highly regarded.

In this position, your compelling and demonstrated communication skills and high level of organisational and business acumen will enable you to identify market opportunities and drive recruitment across your region. You will undertake extensive travel across your markets to visit, engage and train agency partners, engage with prospective students, and broaden and deepen Swinburne’s market engagement. Your primary focus will be on our external agency channel and deepening our engagement with and success in this channel.
