The Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) seeks applicants for a position at either the tenure-track or tenured rank in the area of Applied Mathematics with a focus on Computational Neuroscience, broadly interpreted, with an expected start date of July 1, 2018. This is part of a broader commitment to revitalize and expand Applied Mathematics, which is among the top five majors at Harvard College, in terms of its teaching and research missions.
Candidates should have demonstrated expertise at the interface of applied mathematics and computational neuroscience with significant and innovative applications to science and/or engineering. We are also seeking candidates with a strong vision for an original research program, as well as an interest in working collaboratively with experimental neuroscientists at Harvard and/or other institutions. Candidates should have enthusiasm for teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses at the interface of applied mathematics, neuroscience, and engineering and applied sciences. The position has potential for links to the Center for Brain Science, the Institute for Applied Computational Science, the Harvard Brain Initiative, and the broader Harvard neuroscience community on the Cambridge and Boston campuses. We particularly encourage applications from historically underrepresented groups, including women and minorities.
Candidates are required to have a doctorate or terminal degree by the expected start date.
Additional Qualifications Special Instructions
