About the role

At the University of London International Programmes, we deliver over 100+ study programmes in 180 countries to 51,000 students, with a further 1.3million learners registered on our Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

Our new Director will have the skills, experience and drive to push our innovation agenda to the next level by developing new, timely and relevant programmes for our worldwide body of students. Our new Director will develop effective relationships with our Member Institutions and professional bodies, in order to deliver cutting-edge programmes to further reinforce the University’s position as a world leader in distance and flexible learning, as well as being valued by employers across the world.

About the person

The successful candidate will be an academic leader with a track record of pedagogical innovation and effective programme delivery. They will be global in their outlook and have a deep understanding of the trends in distance learning. They will work closely with leading academic peers throughout the University of London to develop and deliver programmes that can be scaled up to reach large numbers of students. Fundamentally, the new Director will be an excellent leader of people, able to work well as part of a senior leadership team, while also providing effective leadership to a team of 43 staff.
