Position Description:

Salary: Academic Level E: $176,211 pa full-time plus Clinical Loading III ($30,504 pa full-time)

In addition, the eligible appointee will receive a separate Clinical Academic contract and salary supplementation from the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) in accordance with the prevailing Clinical Academics Enterprise Agreement. This will result in a combined salary (from both employers) equivalent to that of a senior staff specialist.

The Professor of Acute Medicine will be an outstanding academic and clinician with a distinguished record in research of international standing in acute medical care, and excellence in teaching and graduate supervision. The incumbent will play a key academic leadership role within the College of Medicine and Public Health, developing the academic environment in acute medicine and inspiring others to research and teach.

The incumbent will deliver an international research profile, and be an active participant in teaching and clinical work within the University and the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN). The incumbent will build on their existing research experience and strategically explore collaborative research opportunities both internal and external to the University.

The incumbent will be a senior staff specialist of the SALHN, based in the Division of Medicine, working within both the College of Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University and performing clinical duties at SALHN with the opportunity to provide senior clinical leadership positions.
