The Melbourne Veterinary School is seeking to appoint an outstanding candidate as Associate Professor/Professor of Veterinary Medicine and to provide leadership as the Head, Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences. This is a significant leadership role within the Melbourne Veterinary School and Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences and you will play a prominent role in developing the profile of the Faculty, School, Department and the U-Vet Werribee Animal Hospital both nationally and internationally.
The Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences is currently building major new facilities and upgrades for teaching, research and the veterinary teaching hospital. A new building for bio-veterinary and agricultural sciences is under construction on the University’s main Parkville campus. Also, construction has started for an 8,500-square-metre redevelopment of the Werribee campus which will add a five-storey specialised veterinary learning and teaching building and a two-storey extension to the University’s 24-hour U-Vet Werribee Animal Hospital. These investments will provide the Melbourne Veterinary School with a distinctive state-of-the-art environment to deliver highest quality in teaching and research. The Head of Department will assist in overseeing and developing the upgrades to these facilities.
The Melbourne Veterinary School delivers Australia’s premiere graduate DVM program which is nationally and internationally accredited by VSAAC, RCVS and the AVMA COE.
