About the job
The Unit of Research and Innovation Services provides support for the management of research, and administers internal and national competitive research grants. It is also responsible for ensuring the responsible and ethical conduct of research, for the management of centralised research facilities and for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to improve the quality of the experience and outcomes for postgraduate research students.
The Animal Ethics Officer responsible for contributing to the development and promotion of a safe and ethical research culture within the University by supporting research and teaching activities undertaken by staff and students involving the use of animals.
Skills and Experience
You will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline plus relevant work experience or demonstrated equivalent skills, experience and knowledge in a higher education or research related environment. You will have extensive familiarity and knowledge of statutory requirements, guidelines and legislation relating to animal ethics and related issues. Your high level interpersonal skills, ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and guidelines accurately and experience in providing high-quality executive support to committees is essential for this role.
