Quantum Computing Flip-Flop Qubits
- AU $102–144k + 17 per cent superannuation and leave loading
- Unique opportunity to join a new start-up in university setting
- Be part of the world’s leading team in silicon quantum computing
With $83 million of new commercial backing and in partnership with recently formed company Silicon Quantum Computing Pty Ltd, CQC2T is seeking more than 20 researchers, engineers and technicians from industry and academia to accelerate the commercialisation of our world-leading research in silicon quantum electronics.
SQC has a 5-year business plan to build a 10-qubit prototype quantum computer in silicon. The company builds on more than 15 years of research in the development of a quantum computer in silicon at UNSW.
The position is in a team working towards a prototype quantum processor assembled from donor-based spin qubits in silicon. The team, headed by Professor Andrea Morello, has made several landmark demonstrations towards this goal over the past 5 years, including the world’s first single-atom spin qubit in silicon and single-qubit gate fidelities amongst the highest for any solid-state qubit.
The successful candidate will develop and characterise devices that demonstrate a novel mechanism for donor-based two-qubit gates via medium-range dipole interactions with the overarching project goal of producing the prototype silicon quantum processor.
This position provides a unique opportunity to work within a truly multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers working at the forefront of global quantum computing internationally. This is one of more than 20 positions currently open for applications. View the full list of available roles on the CQC2T website.
Closing date: Applications close at 11:59pm on 31 December 2017 AEDT. We encourage all candidates to complete the application process as soon as possible. Potential start dates are negotiable for the successful candidate.
