Job Description

The Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University invites applications for appointment as Professor of the Practice of Peace & Security. The successful candidate will have had a distinguished career in the field, whether in the military, strategic studies, defense policy, peacekeeping, diplomacy, or conflict resolution. Based on his/her professional background, s/he will teach classes related to topics such as peace and security, military strategy, peacekeeping, national security policymaking, civil-military relations, and conflict resolution, and the impact of new technologies and strategic challenges (e.g., WMD proliferation or cybersecurity). In addition to teaching courses in his/her areas of expertise, the Professor of the Practice will also advise and mentor students pursuing professional careers in the military, security policy, foreign policy, and conflict resolution. Prior teaching experience and a record of publication and research will be considered a plus.
