Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Information and Technology Studies in the Faculty of Education, to commence on September 1, 2018, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree, a professional teaching qualification in the relevant discipline, and substantial experience in teaching at the tertiary level.  Knowledge of the local context would be an advantage.  They should have strong research and teaching experience with proven track record of competency in any area under Information and Technology Studies, particularly in the areas of information management, social media analytics, complex modeling of information flow with application in addressing social, behavioral and organizational science related questions as well as big data analytics in education.  Applicants are encouraged to have informal discussions with Professor Liaquat Hossain, Head of the Division of Information and Technology Studies at

The appointee will teach the courses offered by the Faculty at various levels from undergraduate to doctorate, supervise research postgraduate students, contribute actively to research, and undertake school practicum supervision and administrative responsibilities. He/She will be expected to teach some of the courses offered in the following programs: Bachelor of Science in Information Management, Master of Science in Library and Information Management, and Master of Science in Information Technology in Education. 

A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with the appointee's qualifications and experience will be offered.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave, and medical benefits.  Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
