Job Description

Assist in daily operations for the Approach Motivation and Participation (AMP) lab at Sargent College, a research lab focused on uncovering biopsychosocial mechanisms of human motivation and emotion, particularly among people with serious mental illness (e.g., schizophrenia) and neurodegenerative disorders (e.g., Parkinson disease).  Projects incorporate mobile technologies as assessment and intervention tools.  Lab manager responsibilities include assisting in coordinating participant recruitment and scheduling, running research experiments with participants, training incoming volunteer staff on research procedures and serving as liaison between Principal Investigator and other lab members in daily operations.  Position is part-time at 50% and is contingent upon funding.  The initial hire term is 1 year.

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field required as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills.  Must be able to work well as part of a team.  General understanding of data analytic and experiment software (e.g., SPSS).  Experience interacting/working with individuals with mental illness preferred.
