Position overview

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated candidate to join the ANU Language Lab, based within the Research School of Psychology. The Research Officer will manage the ongoing data collection of the Canberra Longitudinal Child Language Project (CLCL), a longitudinal study following approximately 120 children’s language development from age 9-months to 5-years.

The ANU Language Lab is a vibrant lab that is currently running several large projects investigating first language acquisition. The lab contains state of the art eye-tracking and EEG equipment, and contains a full range of behavioural and standardised tests. The position will suit a motivated and organised person who is keen to apply their research skills in the context of a developmental psychology laboratory.

The project is a jointly funded by the ARC Centre of Excellence for the Dynamics of Language and the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics (Nijmegen, The Netherlands). The ARC Centre of Excellence for the Dynamics of Language is an ANU-led interdisciplinary research institute that studies human languages from a variety of perspectives, including Linguistics, Psychology, Computer Science, Philosophy, and Anthropology.
