We are seeking a dedicated, independent and creative student to undertake a new and very challenging project under a 3-year fully funded PhD scholarship. This scholarship is available for a graduate with Masters or Honours Degree in either of Material Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Mechatronics to design, formulate, and develop new types of composite materials suited for 3D printing of large-scale building structures. The successful student will gain extensive experience through working within multiple disciplines of material science, chemical and structural engineering. The successful student will also develop new skills through application of some advanced experimental techniques including Differential Calorimetry, Rheometry and Dynamic mechanical analysis, etc.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- A Bachelor degree honours and/or a research master’s degree in a discipline relevant to the research topic (or equivalent)
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination certificate with a minimum overall score of 6.5 with no individual band score below 6.0
- Experience of and interest in a field of research related to the chosen project selected from Appendix 1 (as listed in the position description)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary group in a collaborative manner
