FTE: Full time position working 37 hours per week (1.0 FTE)

Duration of Contract: Permanent

Applications are invited for three full time permanent Lecturers in Mathematics, Financial/Actuarial Mathematics, or Theoretical Physics starting from January 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. We are particularly interested in candidates with research expertise in Financial Mathematics, Mathematical Physics, Mathematics applied to large datasets, or Numerical modelling. The successful candidate will have a PhD or other relevant postgraduate professional qualifications and will be expected to contribute to undergraduate teaching on Mathematics and/or Theoretical Physics degrees, postgraduate supervision and high quality research. The successful candidates will also play a key part in a new academic support unit being developed within the School. You should be able to demonstrate a student-facing professional approach, effective communication skills, and the ability to develop new initiatives and work constructively as part of a team.

The School of Physics Astronomy and Mathematics offers degrees in Physics, Astrophysics, Mathematics and Financial Mathematics. We have a strong and growing Mathematics research profile in numerical modeling, classical and quantum integrable systems, quantum groups and representation theory, semigroup theory and topological algebra.
