FACULTY OF LAW, HUMANITIES AND THE ARTS
Join the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS), Australia’s only multidisciplinary University-based centre dedicated to research, education and training on ocean law, maritime security and natural marine resource management.
The project requires a range of research disciplines who together will play a key role in implementing a large ACIAR/DFAT/UOW-funded project on Community Based Fisheries Management (CBFM) and rural livelihoods in the Pacific region. The project brings together national agencies, The Pacific Community, and WorldFish to improve CBFM outcomes in the region. Depending on the mix of skills and research experience within the team, successful candidates will undertake regional analyses of fish in food systems, lead fieldwork in rural Kiribati and Vanuatu, and analyse fish value chains.
The University plan seeks to increase the diversity of the workforce and the representation of women in areas they have been traditionally under-represented. Consistent with this, the University is seeking to increase the representation of women in the academic workforce across science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medical (STEMM) disciplines and encourages suitably qualified candidates to apply.
