Computing at Sheffield Hallam has the aim of becoming the leading Applied Computing Department. This means that we excel in preparing our students with knowledge and skills that allow them to become successful in their chosen field of work, and in developing new solutions to real-world problems.

Cyber Security is a key feature of our plan to achieve this aim because it is an area of national and international importance. We have recently seen increased student recruitment and have started a new Degree Apprenticeship course and partnerships with leading security providers.

You will provide strong, consistent academic leadership in order to develop our teaching and research. You will be able to demonstrate a track record in research in terms of outputs, funding and knowledge transfer that is already on track for a strong return to REF 2021, together with evidence of building research capacity through leadership and management of research projects and through strong national and international networks. You will be able to articulate a vision for Computing to become the leading Centre for Applied Cyber Security.

For non-EU applicants, we may be able to offer a certificate of sponsorship for this job if required.
