The Department of Government & Public Administration at The Chinese University of Hong Kong now invites applications of outstanding candidates for two faculty positions, one at full professor rank and the other at open rank. The Department offers an undergraduate programme in government and public administration, as well as MSSc, MPhil and PhD programmes. For the full professor position, the Department is seeking top-tier scholars in Chinese politics. Applicants should have a strong research record and rich experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and mentoring as well as academic administration. The appointee is expected to be actively involved in the management of the Department.
For the open rank position, the Department is seeking quality scholars at all levels in comparative politics and political economy with a focus on China. Applicants should have a PhD degree in political science or related fields, with a proven record of scholarly productivity and evidence of tertiary teaching experience/ability.

Appointments will normally be made on contract basis for 3 years initially commencing August 2017, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later. Outstanding candidate for Professor rank may be specially considered for substantive appointment forthwith.
