Chief Transformation Officer
University of Glasgow
Attractive Salary and Package

These are exciting times for the University of Glasgow, from the role recently played by our academics in discovering gravitational waves to this month being named Scottish University of the Year by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide. We are a world changing University and with our £1bn investment in reshaping Glasgow’s West End we are a great example of the transformational role that can be played by universities. Our achievements are a real tribute to the hard work and enterprise of our staff and students, however we know that we cannot stand still and we must accelerate the process of change outlined in our strategic plan. Recognising that change must be the new normal, we have allocated a significant investment to establish a strategic transformation programme; central to this endeavor is the appointment of our new Chief Transformation Officer. In addition to leading this enterprise wide programme, the Chief Transformation Officer will also build and lead the University’s newly established Programme Management Office.

This is a high-profile role of significant importance which requires an individual with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence, negotiate and challenge fixed mind-sets while building excellent working relationships at all levels of the University. We are looking for candidates with a quantifiable track record of leading change in large, multifaceted organisations, as well as proven skills in project management and team leadership. While higher education experience is not necessary, candidates must appreciate the knowledge led community of which they will be a senior member and the hybrid public/private culture of our sector.
