Applicants are invited for appointment as Principal Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer in the Department of Law, to commence on January 2, 2018, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.

The Faculty of Law plays a leading role in legal education in Hong Kong and Asia, through its various undergraduate, research postgraduate, and taught postgraduate programmes covering a wide range of legal subject areas.  It is the largest and oldest law teaching institution in Hong Kong, currently consisting of over 70 teaching members drawn from more than 17 jurisdictions worldwide, and over 1500 undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The Faculty of Law is now seeking to appoint one or two suitable candidates to the position of Principal Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Lecturer with teaching responsibilities in (a) the law of contract, tort, property, equity & trusts, criminal law, criminal procedure, evidence, and related areas of common law; and/or (b) corporate and financial Law, international trade law, dispute resolution, human rights.  Applicants should have a law degree from a common law jurisdiction and relevant experience in legal practice or teaching.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  For Principal Lecturer and Senior Lecturer, housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
