Assistant Research Officer (holding the functional title of Data Analyst) in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention (Ref. 201701405) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics or related discipline; excellent command of written and spoken English, and Chinese/Cantonese; and fluency in R, Python, and SQL. They should have experience in big data analytic tools such as Spark, Hadoop etc, and integrating social media APIs; data visualization skills; knowledge in Tableau, ggplot, plotly, d3.js; and ability to design, lead and execute analysis and communicate insights, ideas and conclusions clearly and effectively to team members across the organization, technical and non-technical alike. Those with work experience in at least 2 of the areas: natural language processing (NLP), deep learning, machine learning and statistics are preferred. The appointee will be joining the Centre’s research projects of applying big data strategies for preventing suicide and promoting well-being.
