The Role

The MQ Property, Project Management team is responsible for delivery of all building and infrastructure projects on Campus from initial planning and design through to procurement, project delivery and subsequent handover to the Asset Management team.

The team is seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage new build, refurbishment and/or infrastructure projects. The successful applicant will have experience in the construction project management industry, particularly managing the design and delivery of a diverse range of projects within agreed timeframes and budget.

You will be responsible for managing new build, refurbishment and/or infrastructure projects from inception to completion. You will collaborate with Senior Project Managers and key internal stakeholders to identify and define business needs and requirements relating to programs of build, refurbishment and/or infrastructure projects. You will collaborate with Senior Project Managers and the Senior Project Manager (Design) to negotiate, agree and develop project scope, timeframes and deliverables to meet identified business needs and statutory requirements. You will provide expert advice to the internal project and property development teams and to external stakeholders to identify and escalate or capitalise on opportunities to improve project quality and maximise the return on investment.

Selection Criteria

  • Degree and experience in architecture, engineering, building, quantity surveying, construction project management or related discipline.
  • Understanding of Australian Codes relative to building design and compliance and understanding of NSW Authority approval and certification requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience managing building and refurbishment projects.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating consultancy and building contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience managing contractors against agreed terms and ensuring compliance with relevant legislative requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Greenstar ratings in design and operations.
  • Demonstrated experience working with project management software.
  • Facilitating Value Management, CHAIR and ESD review workshops.
