Position Description

The Concentration in Theater, Dance & Media seeks applications for a Lecturer in Playwriting. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2018. The Lecturer will be responsible for teaching one playwriting or writing for performance course per semester, advising senior thesis projects, serving as an evaluator on senior thesis projects, and attending faculty meetings. The committee welcomes applications from a wide range of writers, including artists who work in non-traditional forms.

The position is for three years, with the second two years contingent on a satisfactory performance review during the first year.

Basic Qualifications

At least 5 years experience as a writer, with a successful history of professional productions.

Additional Qualifications

Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching is desired. Previous teaching experience strongly preferred but not required.
