Lectureship in Human Resource Management (Ref: 12350)

We are looking to employ a Lecturer in Human Resource Management in the Department of Management within the School of Business, Economics and Informatics. The School brings together the College’s business-facing departments and has expanded student numbers by over 70 per cent since its founding in 2009. The Department of Management, one of four departments within the School, is the largest in the College, with around 1,750 full-time equivalent students and over 50 staff members. It has a strong research reputation in a number of areas, including international business, innovation management and entrepreneurship, human resource management, corporate governance, sport management, accounting and finance, and marketing.
The Department has been at the forefront of innovation in teaching and has a wide range of programmes, including successful BA Management and MSc Management programmes and a newly-launched MBA programme (in collaboration with Central Saint Martins). We are also affiliated with professional accreditation bodies, including the Chartered Management Institute.
The Department is keen to appoint a talented scholar and would particularly encourage applications from prospective colleagues seeking a first class environment for an excellent academic career. Applicants should hold a PhD or be very close to completing one, have expertise in Human Resource Management or Employment/Industrial Relations, and be able to demonstrate research achievements commensurate with their career stage. They should also be able to outline clear plans for future research, contribute to teaching at postgraduate, undergraduate and post-experience levels, and undertake administrative duties as may be directed by the Head of Department.
Salary: Grade 7/8 of the College's London Pay Scale which is Lecturer A (Grade 7) - £37,169 rising to £42,483 per annum or Lecturer B (Grade 8) - £43,642 rising to £51,372 per annum.
This post is full time, 35 hours per week and open-ended. The salary quoted above is on the College's London Pay Scale and includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the Greater London area. The initial salary will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. The appointment is subject to a probationary period of 3 years.
