We are looking to employ a Senior Lecturer/Reader in Financial Management or Accounting in the Department of Management within the School of Business, Economics and Informatics. The School brings together the College’s business-facing departments and has expanded student numbers by over 70 per cent since its founding in 2009. The Department of Management, one of four departments within the School, is the largest department in the College, with around 1,750 full-time equivalent students and over 50 staff members. It has a strong research reputation in a number of areas, including international business, innovation management and entrepreneurship, human resource management, corporate governance, sport management, accounting and finance, and marketing.

The Department has been at the forefront of innovation and has a wide range of programmes, including successful BSc Accounting and Accounting with Finance, MSc Accounting and Financial Management, and MSc Investment Management. We are also affiliated with various professional bodies such as ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, and the CFA. The Department is now looking to add to its number of talented academics and would particularly encourage applications from prospective colleagues seeking a first class environment to enhance their career and strengthen their academic leadership credentials.

Applicants should hold a PhD in Accounting or Financial Management, and should be able to demonstrate significant research achievements and teaching record commensurate with their career stage. They should also be able to outline clear plans for future research, teaching at undergraduate, postgraduate and post-experience levels, and undertake leadership roles as may be directed by the Head of Department.

Applications are particularly welcome from specialists in Financial Accounting, Financial Reporting, Auditing and Taxation, but candidates from other Accounting subject areas who have compelling CVs may also apply.

Salary: Grade 9 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £54,268 rising to £60,600 per annum.
This post is full time, 35 hours per week and open-ended. The salary quoted above is on the College's London Pay Scale and includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the Greater London area. The initial salary will be dependent on the skills and experience of the successful applicant. The appointment is subject to a probationary period of 3 years.
