Munich University of Applied Sciences is the largest such institution in Bavaria and one of the largest in Germany. We are committed to meeting the challenge of delivering an active and innovative contribution to learning, teaching and research in the rapidly evolving environment of higher education.

By the winter semester of 2018/2019, or later, the Faculty of Business Administration seeks to appoint, to a Professorship, an academically proven candidate who also has an established track record of extensive practical experience in a responsible position outside academia and who now wishes to apply this unique grasp of theory and praxis in an applied sciences learning and research environment.

The professorship is intended to cover the following topics:

  • Corporate Strategy
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Innovation Management
  • General Business Administration

The successful candidate will reinforce the Faculty’s existing activities in the area of international management, innovation and entrepreneurship whilst also setting new directions of travel in these fields in the face of increasing globalization. In addition, expertise in the following areas is also a strong requirement: venture creation, intrapreneurship, open innovation, venture capital, digital transformation and social entrepreneurship.

In addition to a sound knowledge of, and expertise in, the theory and practice of general and enterprise management, the successful candidate should have English as mother tongue or have a comparably high level of acquired usage. In the case of candidates with English mother tongue, a knowledge of the German language to at least B2 level is expected so as to facilitate trouble free teaching in German. The successful candidate will have had significant international practical experience and will posses a versatile methodological toolkit in both teaching and research. An important aspect of the Professorship will be the management of contacts with the Faculty’s international partner universities.

Close cooperation with, and integration into, existing teaching programmes and research projects in the area of innovation and entrepreneurship are explicitly desired – particularly in juxtaposition with the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship is taught at Munich University of Applied Sciences through a project based methodology and the institution’s success in this approach has resulted in it being recognized by the Germ an authorities as a »Gründerhochschule«. Consequently, a willingness is expected on the part of the successful candidate to adopt modern teaching methods such as action learning, coaching-oriented knowledge transfer and the integration of digital pedagogical techniques into the classroom.
