Under our new President and Principal, Professor Colin Bailey, we will be developing a correspondingly world-class estate, realised and supported by a high performing Directorate and building on the foundations developed by the current Interim Director.

The Estate currently provides some 230,000 square metres of accommodation on three main campuses at Mile End, Whitechapel and Charterhouse Square, with further property holdings at West Smithfield and Lincoln’s Inn Fields.  It reflects the university’s operation as a research intensive university with a wide range of teaching and research facilities, residences and recreational space, with a turnover in excess of £400m.

Reporting to our Chief Operating Officer as a member of the Professional Services Leadership Team, your remit will be to provide strategic direction, leadership and professional advice to the university on all Estates and Facilities (EAF) matters in support of QMUL’s strategic aims and objectives. In doing so, you will be expected to provide provide inspirational leadership that results in high levels of service provision and contributes to increased student and staff satisfaction and success.

A graduate with a relevant professional qualification (RICS, CIBSE, RIBA, or equivalent), you will already possess extensive general management at Director or Deputy Director level within estates and facilities management, in an organisation of similar or greater scale and complexity. Key to your success will be your ability to operate and impact both strategically and operationally.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
