Applications from outstanding individuals are invited for the above non-clinical academic post at the Centre of Evidence-Based Dermatology (CEBD), University of Nottingham.

CEBD has an international reputation for independent research into the prevention and treatment of skin disease. It is the editorial base for the Cochrane Skin Group and the co-ordinating centre for the UK Dermatology Clinical Trials Network. The Centre includes over 20 clinical and non-clinical research scientists and PhD students with expertise in systematic reviewing, the design and conduct of clinical trials, disease definition, consensus methodology, patient involvement and outcomes research. The group attracts around £1.5 million of grant income per year with a focus on delivering independent clinical research that informs the NHS. This is an exciting opportunity to join this established team and applicants should have a range of expertise to complement and expand existing skills at the Centre. Candidates must have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant area and experience of applied health services research. We are particularly interested in candidates with demonstrable experience in qualitative research, knowledge mobilisation and / or process evaluation as applied in a health research setting. Depending on the skills of the role holder, there is an opportunity to join the leadership team of a 5-year programme of research looking at supporting the self-management of eczema in the community (funded by NIHR Programme Grant for Applied Health Research).

We are seeking to appoint a collaborative individual who shares the research ethos of CEBD.

They should have a consistent track record of publishing in high-quality journals and demonstrable and extensive research experience in their subject specialism. The person appointed will be expected to apply for and obtain external funding to enable development of new and independent research and experience in contributing to successful grant applications would be advantageous. Evidence of teaching experience is also required as the role holder will be involved in a number of teaching activities including the development of on-line courses and the supervision of post-graduate students.

This is a full time, permanent position. Applications are welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time to a minimum 0.6 FTE (21.75 hours per week). Please indicate your preference on the application.
