Salary:     £29,301 to £38,183 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

We are seeking to recruit an exceptional individual to join the Research Contracts Team within the Research and Innovation department.

The role is challenging and rewarding and will involve supporting research delivery within the University by ensuring that contracts are negotiated and concluded in an effective manner, having regard for project requirements, risk management, internal policies, external stakeholder requirements and applicable legislation.

Detailed responsibilities are focused on; reviewing and negotiating research related agreements including confidentiality agreements, material transfer agreements, studentship agreements, services agreements and collaboration agreements and developing and maintaining standard templates and processes for efficient service delivery.  There will also be an opportunity to become involved in more complex transactions through support of Legal Contracts Officers and Head of Research Contracts.
The work will involve working in collaboration with colleagues across the University’s academic schools and professional service departments. The role holder will require excellent communication skills and the ability to manage a caseload of projects.

Candidates must have a degree in law (or equivalent) and experience of working in a commercial contracts or legal environment.  Legal qualifications (including Cilex) would be beneficial.

This position is offered on a full time, fixed-term contract for a period of 12 months.
