The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Greenwich has a reputation for delivering high quality teaching in the Mathematical Sciences. We are seeking to recruit a talented, well qualified, highly motivated individual to contribute to the Department’s teaching and research activity in Statistics. This is a fixed term position to provide cover for maternity leave. The post is offered as a 0.8 FTE position and the successful applicant must be available to be on campus on Mondays and Thursdays from December 2017 to June 2018.
As a member of staff you will be required to contribute to the Department’s teaching activity through the teaching and assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Statistics. You will be actively engaged in research. Applications from candidates who can contribute to, or complement, the existing research activity in the Department are actively encouraged.
The successful candidate will be expected to have a keen interest in delivering excellent teaching, and be able to demonstrate creativity and innovation in curriculum and assessment design.They will be committed to the pastoral care and academic support of students. They will be expected to carry out administrative duties to a high standard and contribute to the Department’s outreach activities.
Applicants must have a good first degree in a subject in the Mathematical Sciences with a PhD in Statistics or a very closely related discipline. Some knowledge of Financial Mathematics would be an advantage, as would a teaching qualification (e.g. a PG CertHE). Please see the relevant job profile for the requirements.
