We are looking to appoint talented accountants (both fully and part qualified) to join the Finance Services teams which support the University’s faculties, schools, departments and business units. The finance partnering teams make up approximately 90 of the 180 finance staff in the organisation.
Finance Business Partner (Grade K UoB Scale)

The Finance Business Partner supports School Managers, Divisional Heads and other colleagues to deliver their goals from a financial perspective. They are responsible for providing detailed, good quality financial information to improve decision making, enabling strategic initiatives and improving financial performance.

The purpose of the Finance Business Partner role is a key support to the Head of Finance Business Partnering in delivering: budgeting, forecasting, monthly management accounts and commentaries, year-end processes, business cases for income growth and identification for cost saving/efficiencies.

They will take a lead in ensuring that their Schools and Divisions are delivering against their annual budgets and strengthening their financial profiles. They are also operationally accountable for assisting Schools and Divisions to delivering the initiatives that they have set out in their annual plans.

The Finance Business Partner manages the Assistant Finance Business Partners and ensures delivery of the partnering service throughout the team.

We are looking for experienced qualified accountants, with an aptitude for working with finance and non-finance specialists and managing a small team preferably gained in a large and complex organisation. They should be an excellent communicator, with strong interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills and must be able to identify solutions and influence and persuade at all levels of the organisation.
