The Centre for Financial Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong seeks to appoint high calibre candidates to be involved in the teaching and academic support of its MSc Programme in Financial Engineering. In order to respond to the challenge of maintaining healthy and stable markets, today's practitioners in the financial service industry must possess quantitative and business know-how to understand and manage the complexity of financial instruments and inter-bank dynamics. The programme has high requirements of practical experiences and hence close connections with industrial partners. 

We wish to hire an experienced professional to serve as Professional Consultant to (a) teach the practical FE courses in the teaching programme offering by the Centre for Financial Engineering. Some sample practical FE courses are Financial Analysis and Security Trading, Electronic Payment Systems, Models and Decisions with Financial Applications, Financial Derivatives, Introduction of Chinese Financial Markets, Term Structure Models and Fixed-income Securities; (b) serve as students' career advisors; (c) guide students to understand and analyze current affairs and financial industry development; (d) build connections with industry practitioners; (e) develop industrial mentorship programme for students; (f) line up industrial type projects, internships; and (g) arrange guest lectures, company visits, etc. 

Applicants should (i) possess a Master's degree from a recognized university; (ii) have a minimum of six years' post-qualification relevant professional work experience; and (iii) have a good connection with the professional community and will be able to contribute towards incorporation of industry-related course contents, and relevant experiential learning opportunities for students in the related area. Applicants of higher qualifications may be considered for the award of a courtesy title of Professor of Practice / Associate Professor of Practice in Financial Engineering. 

The current appointment will be made on contract basis for one year initially commencing August 2017, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement. The exact start date will be negotiated with the successful applicants.
