The Research & Innovation Portfolio oversees research and research training across the University through the development and implementation of RMIT University's strategic research priorities and managing research systems and reporting requirements. The Portfolio supports the research activity of staff and student researchers with professional development, collaboration and funding opportunities, ethics and responsible conduct compliance, contract development, intellectual property, project completions and profiling.
The Role and Your Responsibilities
The Manager, Research Development provides strategic and operational support across a range of development activities for researchers. The role will work in close partnership across the R&I Portfolio, School and College research leaders as well as other central portfolio's.
You will design, lead and promote strategic and integrated researcher professional development programs that align with key university capability development frameworks and project outcomes. This will include seminars, workshops, presentations, web-based resources and other activities that foster research capability enhancement, across all aspects of research practice.
Skills & Experience Required
To be successful in this role, you will have significant experience in the development of professional development frameworks and programs for researchers, either in a Higher education or research organisation. You will be able to demonstrate your capacity to conceptualise, design, deliver and support innovative learning materials for both technology-mediated and traditional delivery. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and extensive experience working within a strategic planning framework, developing and implementing strategies and engaging in collaboration with a range of stakeholders.
